When private detective Shepard Crum is hired by successful San Diego real estate developer James Thorton to find his thirty-year-old beach bro son Scott, the ensuing investigation reveals as much about toxic masculinity as it does the seedy underbelly of business and politics in sunny southern California.

Set in post-industrial Detroit, Customer Service is told through the viewpoints of the employees and students at a school for retraining injured workers, including instructor and failed musician Charlie Everett, who comes to question the worth of an education aimed at staffing big box stores and call centers.
